Back to School is right around the corner!

A Message from the Superintendent

Welcome back, Panther families!

We are so excited to kick off another school year with the students, staff, and families of Centralia R-VI. A new school year brings so much to look forward to — new teachers, new friendships, new opportunities to grow — and we couldn’t be more ready to welcome your children through our doors.

Our staff has been working hard to prepare meaningful, engaging learning experiences for every student, and our buildings are ready to be filled with energy and enthusiasm again. Whether this is your first year with us or your last, we want every Panther to feel known, supported, and challenged this year.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. It is a responsibility we take seriously and a privilege we don’t take for granted. Here’s to a wonderful 2026-2027 school year — we are glad you’re part of our community. Go Panthers!

Technology Services and Personal Device Policies

Technology

Below is a summary of our technology policy. For more information view Board Policy 6320.

Access is a privilege, not a right. District technology and electronic resources can be revoked at any time for misuse.

Password/account security must be protected — never share your credentials or use someone else’s.

Acceptable use is limited to classroom or work-related activities. Prohibited behaviors include hacking, downloading inappropriate content, using the network for personal gain or political activity, and copyright violations.

Internet filtering is in place per federal law (CIPA) to block obscene or harmful content. Students and employees can request that a site be reviewed and unblocked through a formal process, with a decision within three days.

Email is for educational and work purposes only — no chain letters, personal messages, or unauthorized chat rooms.

Network etiquette requires respectful, appropriate language and prohibits sharing personal contact information over the network.

Vandalism — any malicious attempt to alter, damage, or destroy data or equipment — results in immediate loss of access and possible law enforcement referral.

Consequences for violations range from suspension of network or internet access all the way up to school suspension or expulsion, depending on severity.

Personal Device

Student cell phones, digital cameras, and similar devices are banned during the instructional day and in dressing areas during extracurricular activities in accordance to Missouri Senate Bill 68.

Consequences for violations:

  • First offense (during the initial semester): in-school suspension
  • Second offense (during the initial semester): out-of-school suspension
  • After the first semester: out-of-school suspension for first and all subsequent offenses

Hardship exceptions may be granted by the building principal. If approved, the device is kept in the principal’s office and the student may visit to use it for approved purposes only. School office phones are also available for parents needing to reach their student.

Transportation

Routes and Shuttles

The Centralia R-VI School District provides busing services to students who live outside the city limits. Once the routes are set, the bus driver will get in contact with the parents to give them times when they will be picked up and dropped off.

The Centralia R-VI School District also provides shuttle services to students who may live on the other side of town from their school building. The shuttle pick-up locations are located at each school building.

The shuttles will pick students up at each school in the morning and drop students off in the evening. If a student would like to ride a bus to another school, they need to be at the school to catch the shuttle at 7:40 a.m, or 8:40 am on Mondays.

Student Immunization Requirements

Immunization requirements are determined by the State of Missouri.  Students are required to receive immunizations, according to the schedule(s) listed below, and documentation of up-to-date immunizations must be submitted to your child’s school nurse PRIOR to attending school on his/her first day.  If you have any questions or if you need a copy of your child’s current shot record on file with the school, please contact the appropriate nurse.

All students, regardless of grade level, must be up-to-date on their vaccinations prior to starting school each year (see links provided above).

  • All new/incoming preschool and kindergarten students must be up-to-date.
  • Students entering 8th grade are required to have updated Tdap (Tetanus) and MCV (Meningococcal) vaccines.
  • Students entering 12th grade are required to have two doses of the MCV (Meningococcal) vaccine. Note: If the first dose was administered after the student’s 16th birthday, only one dose is required.

If you have questions about immunization requirements, please contact your child’s school nurse.
