Back to School is right around the corner!
Welcome to the Early Childhood department within the Centralia R-VI school district! Located within Chance Elementary, this department encompasses Preschool, Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), and our Parents as Teachers program. We are a staff committed to delivering a robust and meaningful experience for our families and young children within our school district. We understand the importance of early intervention through the support and partnership with our families to maximize the learning potential of our youngest Panthers.
Our preschool program consists of a half-day program, both in the morning and afternoon, where the Early Literacy and Language Curriculum (ELLC) is utilized. This curriculum is based on the understanding that children learn best through meaningful experiences in their physical and social environment. As we work to join with our families in learning, inspiring and influencing the future, we continually work to develop the best environment for our students.
Services
Personal Visits: Our PAT offers personalized visits by one of our certified parent educators who is specially trained in child development and will meet with you and your child to help your child receive a great start with education as a Panther.
Group Connections
Group Connections occur throughout the year as a chance to meet and interact with other parents and their children with planned parent-child activities.
Screenings
Our Parents as Teachers educators provide free developmental screenings to ensure your child is meeting appropriate benchmarks for their age and showing readiness for kindergarten.
Resources
Books, book bags, toys, etc., are available in our Lend and Learn for parent checkout. Our Lend and Learn is located at Chance Elementary. Please ask a PAT educator how to utilize this program for free.
