Back to School is right around the corner!
Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program
Centralia R-VI Schools participates in the Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program (MOCAP). The program offers district students the opportunity to enroll in virtual school courses in a variety of grade levels and content areas from kindergarten through grade 12. Students interested in virtual school courses must meet eligibility requirements established by law, and enrollment in such courses must be determined by the district to be in the educational best interest of the student.
If you feel that you or your child might benefit from this program, enrollment takes place at the same time as enrollment takes place for other Centralia R-VI courses. Students should enroll in MOCAP courses the same way they enroll for regular courses, i.e., with their counselors.
Enrollment Steps
- Check that it is not too late to apply. The deadline for adding a MOCAP course to a student’s schedule is the same as for a traditional course.
- Complete the Student Self-Assessment Form and Virtual Course Form.
- Schedule a time to meet with your student’s counselor and go over the form.
- If your student has an IEP, the IEP team will need to meet to consider the request. Your student’s counselor can help.
After you have completed steps 1-4, any requests to take an MOCAP course that are denied by Centralia R-VI can be appealed. Information about the appeals process will be sent to parents along with notification of the denial.
